Every day at 00:00 UTC. The archive at /daily keeps the last 90 days; older puzzles fall off as new ones land.

How is this different from Daily Geography Quiz?

Both sites pull from the same 195-country dataset, but each uses its own daily seed so the puzzles diverge from day one. Daily Map Quiz leans into wayfinding — region, capital, and continent prompts framed around place. Daily Geography Quiz mixes a wider variety of trivia. Same data, different angle.

No. Your progress for today is saved in your browser; nothing is sent to a server.

How are distractors chosen?

For each question we pick three plausible wrong answers from the same dataset, never repeating the correct one. Region prompts pull distractors from other regions, capital prompts pull other capitals, and so on.

Why do my friend and I get the same puzzle?

The day's questions are computed deterministically from the date plus a salt unique to this site, so everyone playing on /daily/2026-04-26 sees the same ten prompts in the same order.

Can I share a single past day?

Yes. Every /daily/YYYY-MM-DD URL is permanent and serves the same questions to anyone you send it to.

Will you add a clickable map mode?

A click-the-country mode is on the roadmap. For now the daily puzzle is multiple-choice; the unlimited mode is a good way to drill location trivia at speed.
